The steering mechanism of cars without the amplifier of a steering is shown on fig. 5.30 , the steering mechanism in collecting (without the amplifier) – on fig. 5.31 .
Removal
Establish the car on the lift.
Lift the car.
Disconnect the forward exhaust silencer.
Remove forward wheels.
Beat out kontrovochny шплинт nuts and a stripper выпрессуйте a finger of the spherical hinge of a tip of steering draft from a rotary fist.
In salon disconnect a steering shaft from the steering mechanism.

Unscrew bolts  of fastening of a back arm of a suspension bracket of a transmission (fig. 5.32) .

Remove the steering mechanism assembled with drafts, stretching it to the right side of the car (fig. 5.35) .
Clamp the steering mechanism in a vice with brass or aluminum slips.

It is allowed to clamp the steering mechanism in a vice only its adjusting part. Zazhatiye of any other his part can cause damage of the steering mechanism (fig. 5.36) .

Check the moment of rotation of a driving gear wheel (fig. 5.37) , rotating it with a speed one turn approximately for 4–6 pages.
Moment of rotation of 0,6-1,3 N · m.

PREVENTION
The moment of rotation of a driving gear wheel is measured in area of all course of a lath.

If the moment of rotation does not correspond to norm, adjust a lath emphasis, then again check the rotation moment.
If adjustment of an emphasis of a lath did not possible to receive the necessary moment, check details of an emphasis of a lath and if necessary replace them.
Several times sharply turn steering draft.
By means of spring scales measure the moment of resistance a provorachivaniya of steering draft. It should be equal 8–22 N · to m.
If the received value exceeds norm, replace steering draft.

PREVENTION
If the moment of resistance to a provorachivaniye is lower than the specified limit, probably further use of steering draft provided that its rotation occurs smoothly, without excessive люфта.

Check protective covers on existence of damages and deterioration of property of a material.
Be convinced of correctness of installation of covers.
Faulty covers replace new.
Dismantling

Unscrew a lock-nut, remove an emphasis spring, a lath emphasis (fig. 5.43) and the loose leaf.

Against the stop displace a lath in a case of the steering mechanism and clamp a case at level of a gear part of a lath in a vice with brass sponges. Unscrew the internal spherical hinge of steering draft and disconnect draft from a lath (fig. 5.44) .
Take out a lath from a case of the steering mechanism.

Take out a lath in the direction to the left side of the car not to damage the loose leaf lath teeths (fig. 5.45) .

Assembly
Put on a lath greasing of the specified brand, insert a lath into a case of the steering mechanism, establish in a case a driving gear wheel.
Insert a lath into a case on the left side.
At installation of a driving gear wheel enter it into gearing with a lath.
Remove surplus of greasing.
Before installation of an epiploon of the steering mechanism put on it greasing.

       NOTE
Epiploon replace new.

Establish a lath emphasis, an emphasis spring, the adjusting screw of an emphasis and wrap a lock-nut.
Tighten the adjusting screw of an emphasis of a lath the moment of 11 N · m, then unscrew it on a corner 30–60 °. Tighten a lock-nut of the adjusting screw.

PREVENTION
Adjustment of an emphasis of a lath carry out at the average provision of a lath. A lock-nut establish on hermetic.

Installation
Establish the steering mechanism through the right side of the car.
Fix the steering mechanism on a stretcher.
Lift a stretcher a jack and fix it on a body.
Fix a back arm of a suspension bracket of a transmission. Attach tips of steering bent for to rotary fists.
Establish into place the forward exhaust silencer.
Lower the car.
Establish forward wheels.
In salon attach a steering shaft to the steering mechanism.

The steering mechanism of cars with the hydraulic booster of a steering is shown on fig. 5.47 , the steering mechanism in collecting (cars with the hydraulic booster of a steering) is shown on fig. 5.48 .
Removal
Establish the car on the lift.
Merge working liquid from system of the hydraulic booster.
Remove forward wheels.
Beat out kontrovochny шплинт nuts and by means of the adaptation выпрессуйте the spherical hinge of a tip of steering draft from a rotary fist.
In salon disconnect a steering shaft from the steering mechanism.
Lift the car.
Remove a collar of fastening of a hose of a high pressure and unscrew a bolt of a collar of fastening of a drain hose of system of the hydraulic booster.
Disconnect the forward exhaust silencer.
Unscrew bolts of fastening of a back arm of a suspension bracket of a transmission.
Unscrew a bolt of fastening of the steering mechanism and remove a fastening collar.
Establish under a stretcher a jack for transmissions and unscrew four bolts of fastening of a stretcher.
Disconnect from the steering mechanism of the union of the pipeline of a high pressure and the drain pipeline.
Remove the steering mechanism assembled with drafts, having stretched it to the right side of the car.
Check of a technical condition and adjustment
Unscrew a bolt of fastening of the steering mechanism and remove a fastening collar.
Remove the steering mechanism assembled with drafts, stretching it to the right side of the car.
Clamp the steering mechanism in a vice with brass or aluminum slips.

PREVENTIONS
It is allowed to clamp the steering mechanism in a vice only its adjusting part. Zazhatiye of any other his part can cause damage of the steering mechanism.
Check the moment of rotation of a driving gear wheel, rotating it with a speed one turn approximately for 4–6 with; the moment of rotation should be equal 0,6–1,3 N · to m.

       NOTE
The moment of rotation of a driving gear wheel is measured in area of all course of a lath.

If the moment of rotation does not correspond to norm, adjust a lath emphasis, then again check the rotation moment.
If adjustment of an emphasis of a lath did not possible to receive the necessary moment, check details of an emphasis of a lath and if necessary replace them.
Several times sharply turn steering draft.

       NOTE
At installation of a cover check a lath on existence of traces of corrosion.

Remove a lath cover, having shifted it on steering draft.
Slowly putting forward a lath, merge working liquid from a case of the steering mechanism.
Chisel unbend a lock washer of fastening of steering bent for to a lath.
Disconnect steering draft from a lath.

PREVENTION
At a detachment of steering draft from a lath track that the lath was not affected by effort of twisting.

Unscrew a lock-nut of the adjusting screw of an emphasis of a lath.
Unscrew an emphasis a face key «on 14».
Unscrew a lock-nut, take out from the steering mechanism the adjusting screw of an emphasis of a lath, an emphasis spring, an emphasis of a lath and the loose leaf.
Disconnect feeding pipeline from a case of the steering mechanism.

Remove the distributor case, having unscrewed bolts (fig. 5.50) .
When the end of a lock ring leaves an opening with a groove, turn a lath stopper counter-clockwise and remove a lock ring.

PREVENTION
Accept precautionary measures not to damage a mirror of the cylinder of the valve of a driving gear wheel in a case of the steering mechanism.

By means of the special adaptation take out an epiploon and the ball bearing from the distributor case (fig. 5.54) .
Check of a technical condition
1. Lath.
Check lath teeths on existence of damages and wear.
Check a surface of contact to an epiploon on existence of damages.
Check a lath on  curvature or twisting existence.
Check an epiploon ring on existence of damages or wear.
Check an epiploon on  existence  of damages or wear.
2. Driving gear wheel and distributor.

Check teeths of a driving gear wheel (fig. 5.55)  on existence of damages or wear.
Check a surface of contact to an epiploon on existence of damages.
Check an epiploon ring on existence of damages or wear.
Check an epiploon on  existence  of damages or wear.
3. Bearing.
Check the bearing on existence of jammings or the increased noise at rotation.
Be convinced of lack of an excessive gap in the bearing.
Be convinced available all needles of the bearing.
Check a mirror of the cylinder of a case of the steering mechanism on existence of damages and protective covers on existence of damages, cracks or aging.
Assembly
Grease with working PSF-3 liquid all surface of an epiploon of a lath.

Establish an epiploon in a case of the steering mechanism in the situation shown on fig. 5.56 .
Put working PSF-3 liquid on all  surface of the plug of an epiploon of a lath.
Establish an epiploon in the lath plug.
Put working liquid on all surface of a sealing ring and establish a ring in the lath plug.
Put on lath teeths universal greasing SAE J310a, NLGI #2 to ER.

       NOTE
Track to corking with greasing a ventilating opening of a lath.

Insert a lath into a case of the steering mechanism, insert the plug of a lath and displace it inside before combination with a case groove then fix the plug (fig. 5.57) .
By means of the special adaptation establish an epiploon and the ball bearing in the distributor case.
Establish the distributor in a case of the steering mechanism for what put on the distributor working liquid and greasing.
Put on an epiploon working liquid, establish it in a case of the steering mechanism and fix the distributor and a sealing ring in a case.
Attach steering draft and законтрите its kerneniye by means of a chisel.
Establish the loose leaf, a lath emphasis, an emphasis spring in the order shown in drawing. Before installation put hermetic on a carving of the adjusting screw of an emphasis of a lath.
At the average provision of a lath wrap the adjusting screw of an emphasis of a lath in a case of the steering mechanism and a face key «on 14» tighten it the moment of 12 N · m, then unscrew the screw on a corner 30–60 ° and tighten a screw lock-nut the moment of 50-70 N · m.
Tighten the union of fastening of the feeding pipeline of system the specified moment and establish a rubber pillow on glue.
Put silicone greasing on an installation site of a protective cover (in a flute) steering draft.
Establish on a cover a new collar of fastening.

       NOTE
Each time at installation of a cover replace a collar of fastening new.

Establish a cover into place, without allowing its perekruchivaniye.

Put greasing in a protective cover of the spherical hinge of steering draft and on an edge of a cover and fix a cover a lock ring, having got it in a hinge flute (fig. 5.58) .
Greasing A (see fig. 5.58 ) – POLE LUB GLY 801К or similar.
Greasing In SHOWA SUNLIGHT MB 2 or similar.
Cavity and edge of a protective cover – THREE BOND.
Establish the spherical hinge on steering draft.
Check the moment of rotation of a driving gear wheel.
Installation
Establish the steering mechanism into place through the right side of the car.
Fix the steering mechanism on a stretcher.
Attach to the steering mechanism the pipeline of a high pressure and the drain pipeline.
Lift a stretcher a jack and fix it on a body.

Remove a tank of a stekloomyvatel and two collars of fastening of the drain pipeline and a hose (at removal of the drain pipeline).
Remove a clip of fastening of the drain pipeline, the drain pipeline and a hose (at removal of the drain pipeline and a hose).
Unscrew two bolts of fastening in the top part of a front bumper (at removal of the drain pipeline).

Unscrew a bolt (10 mm) clip of fastening of the drain pipeline (fig. 5.64) (at removal of the drain pipeline).
Disconnect from a hose from a tank of the pump of the hydraulic booster and remove the drain pipeline (at works on the drain pipeline).
Installation
Establish the car on the lift.
Insert the drain pipeline in the direction from the top part of a front bumper to its lower part and wrap two bolts of fastening.
Establish the drain pipeline and a hose, wrap a bolt of a collar of fastening and establish a tank (at installation of the drain pipeline and a hose).

Attach the drain pipeline to a hose from a tank of the hydraulic booster and from the drain pipeline and a hose, fix it clips (fig. 5.65) (at installation of the drain pipeline).
Establish into place a hose and the pipeline of a high pressure, attach them to the pump of the hydraulic booster (at installation of a hose and the pipeline of a high pressure).
Lift the car.
Attach the pipeline of a high pressure and the drain pipeline to the steering mechanism.
Establish under a stretcher a jack for transmissions, screw and tighten four bolts of fastening of a stretcher.
Tighten a bolt of a collar of fastening of the pipeline of a high pressure and the drain pipeline.
Fix a back arm of a suspension bracket of a transmission to a stretcher
Attach to the engine the forward exhaust silencer.
Lower the car.
In salon attach a steering shaft to the steering mechanism.
Tighten two bolts of fastening in the top part of a front bumper (at pipeline installation).
Attach tips of steering bent for to rotary fists.
Establish forward wheels.
Fill in working liquid in a tank of the pump of the hydraulic booster.
Check of a technical condition
Check hoses on existence of cracks, overwinding them hands.
Be convinced that hoses do not concern other details.
Filling of system of the hydraulic booster by working liquid
Fill in liquid in a tank of the pump of the hydraulic booster to «MAX» label.
Jack lift a forward part of the car before posting of wheels and turn a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop five-six times with speed of 13 mines -1 , bringing into action the pump of the hydraulic booster, scrolling the engine a starter, but without starting it.
Start up the engine idling and several times turn a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop in both parties until in liquid in a tank there will be no air vials.
Filling is finished, if liquid not dairy color and its level constantly is at a label "MOVE".

PREVENTION
If level of liquid changes at rotation of a steering wheel or there is a liquid modulation from a tank at an engine stop, means, air is removed from system not completely. It is necessary to repeat system pumping as it is specified above as availability of air leads to the increased noise at operation of the hydraulic booster and to his premature failure.

The pump of the hydraulic booster is shown on fig. 5.66 . It provides pressure and circulation of working liquid in system. On Hyundai Getz cars the lamellar pump of the hydraulic booster is established. Lamellar pumps gained the greatest distribution in hydrosystems of a steering of cars thanks to their high efficiency and low sensitivity to wear of working surfaces. The pump fastens on the engine, its drive is carried out by a belt drive from a cranked shaft.
Removal
Disconnect from the pump a hose of a high pressure.

Disconnect soaking-up hose from the soaking-up pipeline and merge liquid in the prepared capacity (fig. 5.67) .

Remove an arm of the pump of the hydraulic booster.

Uncover the pump, having unscrewed four bolts (fig. 5.70) .
Remove a kulachkovy ring.
Nippers remove a lock ring from a rotor shaft.
Remove a rotor and shovels.
Remove a lateral cover of the pump.
Take out a shaft with a pulley from the pump case.
Take out an epiploon from the pump case.
Turn out from the pump case the union and take out from the union the adjusting valve and a valve spring.
Take out from the union a sealing ring.

PREVENTION
Do not assort the adjusting valve.

Check of a technical condition
Check length of a spring of the adjusting valve in a free condition.
It should make 36,5 mm.
Be convinced that the adjusting valve will not bend.
Check a rotor shaft on existence of wear and damages.
Check a drive belt on existence of wear and deterioration of properties of a material.
Check grooves of a rotor and shovels on existence of layered abrasive wear.
Check contact surfaces between a kulachkovy ring and shovels on existence of layered abrasive wear.
Assembly
Establish in the union a sealing ring, a spring of the adjusting valve and the adjusting valve. Wrap the union in the pump case.

By means of the adaptation 09222-32100 press an epiploon in the pump case (fig. 5.71) .
Establish in the pump case a rotor shaft with a pulley.
Check rotor shovels on existence of damages.
Establish a lateral cover and a rotor.
Insert a lock pin into a groove of the case of the pump and establish a kulachkovy ring.

Establish shovels in a rotor the rounded-off edges outside (fig. 5.72) .

Nippers fix a rotor on a shaft a lock ring (fig. 5.73) .
Establish laying and a pump cover.
Establish soaking-up branch pipe with a sealing ring.
Installation
Establish the pump on a fastening arm, put on a pulley a belt of a drive and tighten a bolt of adjustment of a tension of a belt the moment of 2,5-3,0 N · m for cars with engines in working volume of 1,3 l, the moment of 3,5-5,0 N · m for cars with engines in working volume of 1,5 l.
Attach soaking-up hose.

PREVENTION
Hose of a high pressure attach to the pump the end with color marking.

Attach to the pump a hose of a high pressure.
Restore to norm level of working PSF-3 liquid in a tank of the hydraulic booster.

       NOTE
At connection of a hose of a high pressure to the pump do not allow its perekruchivaniye and a contact about other details.

Remove air from system of the hydraulic booster.
Check pressure of forcing of the pump of the hydraulic booster.

Principle of operation of the electroamplifier of a steering
The additional effort on a steering wheel is created by the electric motor of the amplifier of the steering which action does not depend on car power setting. Management of the electric motor is carried out depending on traffic conditions thanks to what higher is provided, than when using the hydraulic booster, adaptability of extent of strengthening, energy consumption decreases. The electroamplifier allows to reduce environmental pollution as in it liquid is not used, and lack  of pipelines and hydrosystem hoses in a motor compartment allows to reduce mass of the car.
The sensor of a torque of the steering wheel, entering into system of the electroamplifier, will transform change of a magnetic field to a current signal depending on a difference of an angle of rotation between entrance and target shaft when twisting торсиона.
Electroamplifier of a steering
(EURU) is located in salon and consequently is protected from pollution, influence of high temperatures (from the engine in a motor compartment) and negative influence of environment.

PREVENTIONS
Do not allow blows on electronic elements. In case of falling and drawing of blow replace them new.
Protect electronic elements from influence of high temperature and humidity.
Do not touch conclusions of wires not to allow their deformation and to prevent probability of influence of a static electricity.
Do not allow blows on details of the electric motor and the sensor of a torque of a steering wheel. When falling or drawing blow replace them new.
Separate and connect contact sockets at the switched-off ignition.

Search of malfunctions of the electroamplifier of a steering
EBU of the electroamplifier of a steering writes down in memory and displays arising malfunctions (tab. 5.1). Before starting search of malfunctions of EURU, check power supply of the amplifier.

At serviceable system the control lamp of EURU lights up at inclusion of ignition and dies away after engine start-up. At emergence of malfunction the control lamp of EURU continues to burn and after engine start-up but if malfunction already arose before engine start-up, the lamp will not burn.
The control lamp of EURU lights up under following conditions:
– speed of movement of the car no more than 1 km/h, frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft not less than 2500 mines -1 during more than 20 with;
– frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft no more than 400 mines -1 , speed of movement not less than 50 km/h during more than 21 pages.
