The steering column and steering shaft of the cars equipped with the electroamplifier of a steering, are shown on fig. 5.13 and 5.14 .
Removal
Disconnect a "minus" wire («–») from the storage battery.

Remove the module of a safety cushion of the driver, having unscrewed the bolts of fastening shown by shooters on fig. 5.15 .

       NOTE
On the car without a safety cushion remove facing of the switch of a sound signal.

Unscrew a nut of fastening of a steering wheel (fig. 5.16) .

Combine labels on a shaft of a steering and a steering wheel. Remove a steering wheel from a shaft by means of a stripper (fig. 5.17) .

       NOTE
Do not remove a steering wheel in hammer blows – it is so possible to damage a steering shaft.

Remove a facing casing of a steering column, having unscrewed three screws shown by shooters on fig. 5.18 .
Separate contact sockets of a contact disk of the module of a safety cushion and the block of podrulevy switches.

Remove the block of podrulevy switches, having pressed it in the places shown by shooters on fig. 5.19 .

Remove a steering shaft assembled (fig. 5.23) .
Check of a technical condition
Check a steering shaft on existence of damages and deformation.
Check shaft connections on existence of gaps, damages and on smoothness of moving.
Check the ball bearing on existence of wear and damages.
Analysis and assembly
In need of removal of the anti-theft device make a chisel a groove under shlitsa of a screw-driver on heads of special bolts of fastening.

Screw-driver unscrew two special bolts of fastening (fig. 5.24) .
Remove the anti-theft device from a steering shaft.

At installation of the anti-theft device acquire new special bolts of fastening of the device to a steering shaft (fig. 5.25) .
Tighten special bolts a wrench before cutting of heads.

Unscrew fastening bolts (12 mm) bottom shaft to knot of a steering column and the top shaft (fig. 5.26) .

Disconnect the bottom shaft from knot of a steering column and the top shaft of a steering (fig. 5.27) .
Assembly carry out as it should be, the return to dismantling.

Cars with the electroamplifier of a steering

Separate the contact socket of the electroamplifier of a steering (fig. 5.28) .

Remove knot of the electroamplifier, having unscrewed three screws of fastening (fig. 5.29) .
Assembly carry out as it should be, the return to dismantling.
Installation
Establish into place a shaft of a steering and "acquire" four bolts of fastening.
Screw a bolt of fastening of the kardanny hinge of a shaft to a driving gear wheel of the steering mechanism, located behind a brake pedal.
Tighten four "nazhivlenny" bolts of fastening of a shaft of a steering.
Establish the bottom facing of the dashboard and screw two bolts of fastening.
Establish on a steering column to a zashchelkivaniye the block of podrulevy switches.
Establish a contact disk of the module of a safety cushion and connect the socket of the block of podrulevy switches.
Establish the top and bottom facing casings of a steering column and screw fastening screws.
Establish a steering wheel and tighten a fastening nut.
Establish the module of a safety cushion and wrap three bolts of fastening.
Attach a "minus" wire («–») to the storage battery.
